Right before I turned 22, I made a choice. I was going to try this thing called being healthy. Instead of snacking on donuts, I was going to snack on veggies. I was going to consider salad a meal and I was going to skip the ranch, please. I'm not on a diet. I'm not a vegan. It's not easy for me to make the healthy choice. But I'm gonna try.

Chicken and avocado salad in a lime cilantro dressing!
It’s hotter than the Devil’s taint out here in NYC and when it’s this hot, ice cream is usually a good go-to snack to help combat the heat and make the Con Edison strikes a little more bearable.
Today I finally got to try ice cream from the Big Gay Ice Cream truck, a popular NYC staple that you can usually find around Union Square Park. You can click the pic above to see what else they offer. For instance, they have another cone aside from the “Bea Arthur” cone that I had (the cones all have cutesy names) called the “Salty Pimp” that is dipped in chocolate and sea salt. I have to say that the ”Bea Arthur” was very delicious and these guys are definitely deserving of being featured on Tony Bourdain’s Layover show. Also, the guy operating the truck was very nice and personable. It’s cool to see people enjoying what they do for a living.
Anyway, I’d definitely get on this if I were you. It’s delicious and it’ll help keep you cool in this God forsaken heat.
Watermelon, Feta, and Tomato Salad for your 4th of July Festivities!
You’ll never believe these cookies came from a can of chickpeas once you try them! They are sweet, cinnamony and fudgey- and best of all, made with minimal sugar/ oil- they’re guarenteed 100% guilt-free :) Packed with protein and healthy fats, I love them as a quick post-workout snack. … (Source: , via kelliesdeliciouslife)

Leftover time for lunch! I shredded some leftover grilled chicken breasts I had with olive oil, jalapenos, cumin, chili powder and garlic cloves and put it on leftover brown rice with (of course) cranberries. Yum! I always feel a little too proud of myself when I actually make something with leftovers rather than letting it rot.
Avocado Truffles
what. i can’t handle. yum.
I brought a bowl of left over brown rice and celery and forgot my cranberries.
All I can think about each bite is how much I want those cranberries.
What is life even.
